Some days you don’t need a full routine—you need a reset. Here’s a gentle 5-minute ritual you can do anywhere to calm your nervous system, reconnect with your body, and move forward with intention.
The 5-Minute Reset
Set a timer for 5 minutes. If you can, place one hand on your chest and one on your belly.
Breathe (60 seconds): Inhale for 4, hold for 2, exhale for 6. Repeat slowly.
Scan (90 seconds): Notice your jaw, shoulders, and hands. Unclench. Drop. Soften.
Name it (60 seconds): Ask: What am I feeling right now? (No judgment—just truth.)
Nourish (60 seconds): Drink water, stretch your neck, or step outside for one deep breath.
Choose (30 seconds): Pick one next step you can do with care (one email, one call, one boundary).
You don’t have to earn rest. You’re allowed to pause—right now.
Make it yours
Try this reset once a day for a week. If you’d like, journal one sentence afterward: ‘Right now I need…’ Then honor the smallest version of that need.
If this helped you, share it with a sister-friend—and tell us what your 5-minute reset looks like.
